Close to the city centre, reasonably priced and conveniently located opposite the buzzing Cheltenham Brewery Quarter, whether you’re in the historic market town of Cheltenham as a leisure, business or family guest then the new look HiEx Holiday Inn Express Cheltenham has every comfort you could want and more. Works to evolve the hotel into the next generation are complete and it’s now unveiled its new look after benefiting from an £800,000 investment. Not wanting to miss out on being one of the first to check out the stunning feature fireplace, new buffet island and Generation 4 fixed coffee station, not to mention the tastefully refurbished rooms, I was there like a rocket as soon as the doors opened.
There was a lovely warm welcome when checking in at Holiday Inn Express Cheltenham. Unlike some hotels where you have to make your way across the ground floor to find it, the reception desk with its sleek new decor is right in front of the entrance doors.
Not only was I checked in with first class efficiency but I was also given key information such as the Wi-Fi code, breakfast times and parking discounts without having to ask. Reservation details had been recorded accurately and I was soon on my way to check out my room.
HiEx Cheltenham has seen around £500,000 invested in improvements to 132 of its guest rooms alone and the newly refurbished additions to the ground floor and public areas ensures everyone is catered for. The new contemporary design is classic and chic with a modern clean-cut colour scheme.
What is particularly nice for both the business and leisure traveller is the zoning of the room through the creation of a desk and seating area so any work or dining can be done without having to sit on the bed to do so. There are ample plug sockets and USB ports for charging devices along with free Wifi access and a large flat screen TV with premium channels. Extra touches such as a choice of firm or soft pillows for maximum comfort and a lovely hand written welcome note make a stay at the Holiday Inn Express a very enjoyable one. Thank you Danny for preparing my room so beautifully!
Dining & Relaxing
A new buffet island on the ground floor of the hotel provides catering from morning until late alongside the new Generation 4 fixed coffee station. There is also a fabulous revamped, open plan lounge area which enables hotel guests to work from new high stools and tables with connectivity or integrated iPads, watch news or the latest sporting events from the wall mounted LED TVs or just relax in front of the impressive feature fireplace.
Breakfast is included in your room rate and you can help yourself to a well-stocked Express Start continental or hot buffet from 06.30-09.30.
According to Akshay Karkera, General Manager of Holiday Inn Express Cheltenham,: “The works have transformed the hotel to position us at the forefront of excellent and affordable accommodation in Cheltenham. We can now cater for business, leisure and family guests with ease – offering an even better all-round guest experience.”
I couldn’t agree more. The hotel chain has surpassed itself in its renovation of this previously tired, dated and functional hotel and by doing so has brought it right back into the heart of Cheltenham as a hotel of choice for both business and leisure visitors alike. The transformation is exceptional and I have no doubt that it will prove itself a popular base for those visiting the festival town of Cheltenham especially considering Holiday Inn Express’ hospitality promise to make your stay a complete success.
If the spacious accommodation and prime location in the heart of Cheltenham aren’t already enough then guests to HiEx can also benefit from exclusive discounts including complimentary access to DW Fitness Gym, classes and pool. How fabulous is that? That’s aside from the fact that the contemporary hotel is just minutes away from the restorative spa waters of the Pittville Pump Rooms and a wealth of shops, restaurants and bars. What else could you possibly need? The HiEx Cheltenham is easily accessible at just 20 minutes from the M5 and children under 16 can stay for free when with an adult making this modern hotel the ideal family friendly stop off. Here’s what recent customers had to say about their experience.
Don’t forget to check the Holiday Inn Express Cheltenham website for details of latest prices and limited offers. There’s currently a Spa and Stay package, which includes overnight accommodation for two with breakfast and 2 x 3 hour retreat vouchers for the nearby Chapel Spa from only £92.00 per night! T & C’s apply.
Thank you to HIEx Cheltenham for inviting me to attend the incredibly well organised launch party and stay overnight at the hotel in exchange for an honest review. All views and opinions are my own. I only ever feature the very best of the best on the Lady Janey blog.
