Can you ever have enough spas? No I don’t think that could ever possible. This week’s Saturday Spotlight takes me to a fabulous NEW spa in Cheltenham! Please welcome to the Lady Janey sofa, the lovely and talented Georgia from Gee’s Beauty at Malmaison.
When she was younger Georgia wanted to be a fashion designer but over the years she developed an interest in skincare and as a result embarked on a career as a spa therapist. Gee’s Beauty originally opened at the Honeybourne Gate Retirement home on Gloucester Road, Cheltenham 1 year and 3 months ago but then Georgia heard about the opportunity at Malmaison so in her own words she ‘Jumped right on!’ After all, the chance to open a spa in one of the best hotels in Cheltenham was not one to be missed!
Georgia has had many jobs alongside beauty but all hospitality based, so she knows first hand the importance of providing excellent Customer Service. Georgia believes that it isn’t just about being nice and smiling but engaging in conversation and making clients feel comfortable and special not only so that they are happy with the service but also to ensure they come back and/or refer you on to a friend or colleague. When asked about the best part of her job, Georgia said it was ‘Meeting new people’ and that she really enjoyed ‘Making people feel comfortable in their own skin’ by giving them the best possible treatments.
Georgia would rate her customer service as 9/10 because she believes there is always room for improvement no matter what you do. She also rates it highly because of her experience and she says it was also because, ‘Customers always tell me how comfortable and pampered they feel around me not only when engaging in conversation but the way I perform my treatments as well.’
When I asked Georgia about how she dealt with complaints, she said that ‘It’s important to remember that it’s not always whether the complaint is right or wrong but just that something has upset her client whether it’s what they’re complaining about or not.’ Georgia deals with complaints by first apologising for what they felt was wrong and then offering some kind of service recovery if appropriate.
Georgia says people should choose her as a company because she provides ‘An honest and special experience. From the moment you walk through the hotel door you’re made to feel welcome.’ There are also lots of benefits to visiting Gee’s Beauty. For example, as well as the ‘Lovely spa experiences and divine treatments with affordable prices’ you can get 20% off in Malmaison on food and drink. There is a complimentary steam room 30 minutes prior to your treatment (with an upgrade available) free parking on site and she only uses cruelty and chemical free products. If all this wasn’t fabulous enough then Georgia offers loyalty cards for products and also for all treatments under £30.
The spa opening hours are as follows but you’ll need to be quick because judging by the fabulous range of treatments available, I’ll be taking every appointment until Christmas to try them all- especially with a lovely complimentary 30 minute steam room session on offer too!:
Thursday – Monday 8am – 6pm (walk ins accepted)
Tuesday and Wednesday 3.30pm – 8.30pm (walk ins accepted)
Sunday 9am – 2pm (appointment only)

Many thanks to Georgia for taking the time to chat to me today and show me around her lovely new spa at Malmaison. Don’t be fooled by her age as Georgia’s maturity, knowledge and ability in her field are just inspirational and her enthusiasm and genuine passion for what she does are just as invigorating as the treatments she offers. I for one cannot wait for my next visit!
Until next week everyone! Cin cin!
