I love to try new things and new places- except when it comes to my hair because I’m a creature of habit so if I find somewhere that works for me then I tend to stick to it. I also wouldn’t normally choose a ‘chain’ hairdressing salon because I worry that the service would be too prescriptive to the brand and not be personal enough. However when I found out about the relaunch of the Regis hair salon in Cheltenham, I couldn’t resist popping along for a treatment, wash, cut and finish and I’m so glad I did!
As soon as I stepped in the door and was warmly greeted by Salon Manager Nathaniel, all preconceptions disappeared in an instant and within minutes we were chatting away like we’d known each other for years. Having a connection with your hairdresser is always something I’ve valued because the social aspect of a hairdressing service really does make a difference to the overall experience. No worries in this respect as we soon discovered we were from the same Northern homeland and could have powered the National Grid with all the tales we had to share.
Not only was Nathaniel a pleasure to chat to but he was also very conscientious and meticulous in his work. There was an initial consultation where we discussed various cut and style options and talked about the products he would use. Whilst Nathaniel washed my hair, I found the seats at the backwash to be very comfortable which was nice as often I find it hard to tolerate them. The salon itself is beautifully light and airy and the white of the units is a sleek and stylish choice. With brand new equipment and gleaming product displays, the whole look of the new salon is very modern and chic yet it’s the perfect place to while away a few hours being pampered in lovely comfy seats with a very well made cup of tea and excellent company.
The time just flew by and soon my knotty blonde hair with its split ends was transformed into a beautifully smooth blow-dried coiffure without the use of a single GHD. Since its traumatic days as an 80’s perm, my hair is frequently a force to be reckoned with when trying to style but not on this occasion. Nathaniel 1 – 80’s perm – 0. How fabulous is that!
Thank you to Regis for the opportunity to visit the new salon in Cheltenham. I would definitely recommend a visit. All views and opinions are my own.
