The joy of Saturday Spotlight has been the opportunity to discover so many different companies in the Cotswolds which share a combined passion for customer service and which I would never usually have come across. This week is no exception. Please welcome to the Lady Janey sofa, the lovely Emma from Emma Green Bowen Therapy.
Hi Emma, please tell me about your company and its history
I am a self employed Bowen Therapist for people and horses.
My background is with horses- after school I went to college to do a National Diploma in Horse Management, and then I continued my studies with a BSc (hons) Equine Science. I always had an interest in therapy and rehabilitation for horses but wasn’t sure what to do. After working in an office for a year I made the decision to leave and get back to horses. After a lot of thought I came across Bowen and decided this is the therapy for me. So I trained to be a human Bowen practitioner, and then a few years later trained in Equine Bowen. I love treating both people and horses, and the variety that comes with my job.
I am now completely self-employed. I treat people from a lovely clinic in central Cheltenham. I travel throughout Gloucestershire, Somerset and Dorset treating horses.
Why is good customer service important?
People come to me for all kinds of physical and emotional reasons. It is so important to me that clients (people and horses) can feel comfortable and safe with me from the first time they meet me. Treatment is a very personal experience- I always try make the whole process from first contact, booking, arriving, treatment and after care as good as possible. If I look after my clients well, they have the best experience possible and a good healing environment.
How would you rate the quality of customer service you deliver and why?
Very good! But always room for improvement! I try to think about everything I do and ensure that my clients always feel welcome and supported.
How do you encourage customer loyalty?
I offer a discount on treatment price for any follow-up appointments.

Because I am kind, caring and very passionate about helping people and horses to heal with Bowen.
