2020, what a year and in more ways than one! I didn’t think that anything could possibly top 2019 when I was featured as one of the Top 5 Consumer Champions in the UK in the Daily Mail and experienced a fabulous LIVE TV debut on BBC Breakfast. It was a real media rollercoaster and 2020 has followed suit with even more thrills and spills. Fast forward to the present day and I’m now not only a respected consumer blogger and travel expert in my own right but am also an author, radio presenter AND most excitingly of all………….. The Queen of Customer Service! Here’s a look back at 2020 and a look forward to what’s coming up in 2021.



Media wise, this has been quite a year for Lady Janey and I could not have done it without your support and encouragement. My profile has continued to grow in a way I could never have imagined. Since taking part in courses run by the PR guru that is Fiona Scott and joining the FeatureMe UK Facebook group, it’s been a real year of opportunity and I’ve loved every single second.

In the world of radio, my first appearance was with my favourite presenter Kate Justice on BBC Gloucestershire back at the very start of my blogging journey and I absolutely loved it! Since then I’ve worked my way through the ranks and am now the ‘go to’ consumer expert for a number of national and local radio stations. I also host my own little Sunday breakfast show on local radio in Gloucestershire.

As the year has gone by, I’ve watched in dismay as the industry I love has been crucified by Coronavirus. Travel has been one of the biggest casualties and it looks like the journey is set to be fraught with bumps for some time to come. My heart just breaks for all those affected whose worlds have been torn apart by the fallout from Covid-19. With vaccination comes new hope for a brighter 2021 but it’s just the start. Consumer confidence is at an all time low and there seem to be more obstacles than hoops.

As ever, I’ll be championing every bit of progress, keeping a close eye on all developments and reporting accordingly in the media. This year I was pleased to cover travel related issues on BBC Your Questions Answered and BBC regional news as well as in a Woman’s Own feature.



More Q & A came in the form of a column in Pick Me Up Magazine and inclusion alongside fellow UK Moneybloggers in the Supersavers December issue of Take A Break. On the shelves right now if you’re looking for some good money saving tips for 2021!



Over on the blog, I’ve covered a range of consumer issues and would like to take this opportunity to thank Rob Globetrotter and Scott Dixon for their fabulous guest posts. Many thanks also to the equally fabulous ‘Breakfast with……’ celebrity guests that have joined me on the Lady Janey sofa this year. The interview line up has been amazing and I’m so chuffed that they agreed to take part.

Finally the absolute hands down highlight of 2020 has to be the invite to join Matt Allwright and Kym Marsh on Your Money and Your Life as The Queen of Customer Service.’ Wow, what an accolade! It just doesn’t get any better than that- except of course if I can take over ITV too. Last month I covered price comparison sites with Chris Choi in an exciting debut on ITV news so it’s maybe just a matter of time?



What’s coming up in 2021?


I can’t give too much away on this score but…………………………… what I can definitely say is that I couldn’t be more excited about 2021! My NEW showreel is almost complete and I’m all signed up and ready to go! Make sure you watch this space to be the first to know what’s happening and when.

Thank you once again for all your support in my Lady Janey journey! My word for 2020 was patience and I think I can quite safely say that this year would have tested anyone to the limit in this respect. Roll on 2021!
