Every week Saturday Spotlight just gets better and better as I make my way around the Cotswolds discovering even more fabulous people who still put customer service at the very top of the agenda. What I also love is the variety of companies I’m covering and it’s so lovely to be able to share all my findings with you all. Please do welcome to the Lady Janey sofa this week, Lesley from Lesley Young Bespoke Framing.
Hi Lesley, please tell me about your company and its history
I am a bespoke picture framer based in Whiteshill, just north of Stroud.
My first career was as a professional actor, which I did for 10 years. I have always loved making and fixing things and during this time I took a night class in picture framing which I did for a while as a hobby, making things for family and friends. I then ended up getting what I thought would be a temporary – in between acting jobs – job at Primrose Hill Framing Company in London. I absolutely loved it and my “temporary” job there lasted for 3 years! I then moved to Stroud and setting up my own business here seemed like the perfect next step. I’ve now been living and working in Stroud for almost 12 years and couldn’t imagine being anywhere else!
Why is good customer service important?
If I receive great service from someone I will return to them and recommend them, so it’s important that people feel that way about me and the service I provide. Stroud is a small close-knit community, and most of my work comes through word of mouth, which means that good customer service is essential to my success.
How would you rate the quality of customer service you deliver and why?
Over the years I’ve had a huge amount of repeat business, and many of my customers recommend me to their friends – hopefully that speaks for itself!
How do you deal with any complaints?
I haven’t had any complaints as such, for me it’s important to maintain an open dialogue with my customers to ensure they are happy with my work.
Why should people choose you as a company?
I believe customers can trust me to frame things that mean a great deal to them, to present and protect them for many years to come.
Where can people find you?
It has been so lovely to chat to Lesley today! The photos she provided just took my breath away particularly ‘Finn’s first shoes’. What a truly fabulous idea! I am seriously considering framing privilegedpup’s first collar – as he doesn’t wear shoes but if he did, then I would seriously be considering framing them too!
I first discovered Lesley because she works with my very good friend Melanie Cormack Hicks Artist who is will be exhibiting at the Bristol Art Fair next week. As well as some of her stunning artwork expertly framed by Lesley, she will also have a fabulous selection of prints for you to choose from. If you’d like to head down to take a look, please click here and enter the special code CORMACKHICKSCOMP for your FREE complimentary tickets on the 27th-29th July!
On a more personal note, I have a beautiful picture of privilegedpup that needs framing and at least I won’t now have to spend too much time deliberating over which company to choose as this is a no brainer. Only the best for privilegedpup! Watch out for a pic on his own Instagram feed when purchased!
Until next week everyone!
