It’s back to the world of beauty this week for my Saturday Spotlight interview where a local company gets the chance to talk about what they do and their views on delivering excellent customer service! Please welcome to the Lady Janey sofa the very lovely Harriet Thorpe from Glitterbugz Beauty Cheltenham.
Hi Harriet, please tell me about your company and its history
My company GlitterBugz Beauty is a new beauty business situated within Montpellier, Cheltenham. I offer a wide range of treatments such as facials, waxing, nail services, tinting etc. I’m striving to learn even more treatments and really branch into the beauty world. The treatments I offer differ to other salons as my main focus is to enhance natural beauty rather than change it completely, everybody is beautiful and the services I provide will give you the confidence to see the beauty you have! My premises is a cosy treatment room on the top floor of a clean, quiet building with ample parking and a quaint atmosphere. I’m self employed and I have many plans for the future including making my treatment room much bigger and offering many more treatments. Beauty starts from within and if I can provide a treatment to give somebody the confidence to walk around with their head held high then I’ve done a good job.
Why is good customer service important?
As in any industry customer service is essential to having a successful beauty business. If I am rude to a client they are not going to trust me to carry on giving them treatments and they are certainly not going to recommend me to their friends. Providing excellent customer service builds a positive relationship between myself and a client, they need to be able to relax and know that I will carry out a treatment at a very high standard and produce the desired outcome. When you build a good relationship with your client then they will trust and trust to recommend you to other clients therefore promoting your business. Any form of bad customer service will severely damage your reputation and could potentially result in the deterioration of your business.
How would you rate the quality of customer service you deliver and why?
I would rate myself as an 8/9 as I pride myself on providing excellent customer service and making sure my clients leave my treatment room happy, relaxed and looking forward to coming back for their next treatment. I am conscious of my personal appearance so as to keep up the standards of the quality of my treatments.
How do you deal with any complaints?
Any complaints are dealt with as soon as possible, of my client is not happy then I discuss how to rectify the matter by giving a refund or offering a second free treatment to make up for it. Nothing is more important to me than making sure my clients know that I’m not out to rip them off and I will always hold their best interests above all else.
How do you encourage customer loyalty?
Customer loyalty is important as that is what makes a business grow. I offer loyalty cards which clients receive a free treatment upon the completion on stickers on their cards. I have contionous offers to make sure my clients receive high quality treatments at a low cost.
Why should people choose you as a company?
Unlike a salon which has numerous beauticians I am a self employed beautician who is working hard towards making a big name for myself. I keep client records with notes to how each individual client prefers their treatment so that I can always give the best possible experience. I will listen to your individual needs as I’m not only here to make you look good but I also aim to make people feel good too and if a good chat is what they need I am always there to listen. If you choose to come to GlitterBugz Beauty you will be guaranteed to leave feeling more relaxed and fresher and ready to take on the world!
